Academic and Student Affairs

The Academic and Student Affairs is responsible for university-level study administration and its centralised development and coordination. The study administration of the University of Turku is conducted mainly as collaboration between the central administration and the faculties. The Academic and Student Affairs also supports the university’s internationalisation in other than study matters.

The Academic and Student Affairs comprises three divisions. The responsibilities of each division as well as contact information are found on their websites.

Divisions of the Academic and Student Affairs unit:

International Office

Responsibilities:

  • the University’s international operations
  • international collaboration
  • exchange and degree programme agreements
  • international mobility and mobility-related communications
  • grants for students, teachers and other staff

 

Educational Development and Counselling Services

Responsibilities:

  • the production, development and coordination of education and counselling for
    • degree students (Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees)
    • doctoral students (Licentiate and Doctoral degrees)
    • different student groups, e.g. students with disabilities
  • the development of education and the use of teaching technology (a service to the university staff)

 

Student and Admission Services

Responsibilities:

  • the development of national and international student exchange and reporting
  • support services and counselling for applicants and university staff
  • student register, registration and study grants
  • university sports
  • the development and maintenance of the electronic information systems of the Academic and Student Affairs
